History & Condition

This Bruce Roberts Mauritius 43 Center Cockpit Cutter/Sloop, manufactured in steel has been designed, built and fitted out to provide comfort as a live-aboard Blue Water sailing yacht. Built in Scotland and launched in 1991 she was little used until sold to the previous owners in 1994.  Major additions to the equipment and facilities were made in Malta in 1997/98 and regular maintenance and upgrading has continued.

This construction provides high levels of safety at sea and sail handling is made easier by use of the furling, high cut Yankee foresail which, when used with the staysail is very effective.  The Cruising Chute has a snuffer and a Genoa used in light airs also makes for easy sail handling.

The 80HP Ford engine gives good cruising speed and fuel economy at slow engine speeds.  The Vee-Drive gearbox arrangement enables a spacious galley / saloon area.

The hull is fully insulated above the waterline and, being steel, responds to the water temperature rather than air temperature – so in summer the interior is cool, aided by Dorade ventilation throughout.  In winter, the interior is warm – thus making an ideal live aboard-aboard.

This yacht is not a project! Soleria is ready for immediate sailing, and with replacement long distance fuel tank and domestic batteries (work which is reflected in the price) she will be the perfect yacht for any voyage you can dream of.

Lying in Cartagena Spain, this well equipped ideal combination of live aboard and Blue Water cruiser has been very well maintained and she is overall in excellent condition!
